This year will be a special opportunity to reach out to the less privileged members of the society and to identify with them. This year’s ‘LAFUP LIVE’ edition will come up live on December 24 at Jogor Centre, Ibadan and it will be full of fun”.

The comedian made these statements while featuring on a weekly radio show, Ayekooto on Radio’ anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Splash 105.5FM, Felele Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State recently.

Speaking about his humble beginning as a comedian, “I must say it was a divine process, my parents never believed I could go into comedy because I am someone that things never used to amuse. During secondary school day, I used to write poems, songs and I got my nickname out of my usual slang. Whenever I rap, I always use the word ‘what’s up nah’ and that was where I got the name ‘LAFUP’

Segun further revealed that his father was never interested in him studying Theatre Art but urged him pursue a more professional course like Accounting.

“For my dad, he wanted me to study accounting in order to be an accountant because most of his friends were accountants. He assured me that he would connect me to them. During my first year at the secondary school as an accounting student, I couldn’t understand the figures.

“I noticed that I had a flair for literature and drama and it was something I could do effortlessly. I have been an artist since I was young. I love drawing city scales and making handmade cards and I made money from it. Presently I consult, design, and produce events”.
