The Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon Adebo Ogundoyin has said that the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the Conference and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG in Abuja will drive sustainable economic growth and development in all the 36 states of the federation.

The MOU was signed by Rt. Hon Adebo Ogundoyin on behalf of Conference of Speakers, and Mr. Olaniyi Yusuf who is the Chairman of NESG

The signing also featured the official inauguration of State Assemblies Business Environment Roundtable, SABER

Hon. Ogundoyin said the partnership between the two organizations signaled the beginning of effective collaboration towards advancing the economic potentials of each State of the federation

“This is really a significant milestone in our collective efforts to advance and promote economic development in our States. The collaboration signifies a commitment to fostering conversations and interactions on projects that will focus on establishing effective Legislative structure to enhance the business climate at the sub-national level. I am confident that our joint efforts will yield tangible results that will benefit our citizens and contribute to the overall growth of our nation.” Conference Chairman said

Earlier while signing the MOU, the Chairman NESG, Mr. Niyi Yusuf expressed strong belief in the economic potentials and prosperity of all the States.

NESG Chairman however said this would not be achieved without an enabling business environment which serves as a catalyst for private sector growth, economic prosperity and sustainable development.

“The journey to this day began in September; 2021when NESG organized a high-level private sector dialogue with the Executive members of the Conference of Speakers. This was necessitated by the urgent need to adopt a different approach to achieving rapid economic recovery. Acknowledging the critical roles played by the private sector in achieving a productive economy, this partnership aims to identify some existing bottlenecks in the business environment and other governance impediments to achieving economic competitiveness in our States.” NESG Chairman said.
