Community Development Efforts In Ekiti Thrills Governor Oyebanji

The Governor of Ekiti, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has lauded the contributory efforts of the Ekiti indigenes towards the development of the State.

Speaking at  the commissioning of some projects in Osi Community High School, Osi-Ekiti ,Governor Oyebanji who recognized the selflessness and passion of the people of Osi  towards the growth of their community charged them to continue with their developmental strides .

Oyebanji who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Dr Mrs Olabimpe Aderiye urged the people to note that investments geared towards educational development are  not in futility, but a way of building a future for the younger generation.

He reiterated the commitment of the State Government towards the payment of WAEC fees for students of Public Secondary Schools as well as the provision of running grants for the smooth running of schools in the state.

The Governor expressed joy that two projects being commissioned in the school, a gatehouse and perimeter fence would go a long way to bolster security in the school and prevent encroachment of the school land

In her address, the Commissioner for Education, Dr (Mrs) Olabimpe Aderiye appreciated the Alumni of Osi Community High School for their continuous efforts towards the development of the school.

Aderiye stated that the government will continue to make the school a conducive learning environment, as the school would soon receive the sum of 43 million naira for the second cycle of the World Bank Assisted Grant to implement priority projects in the school.

She charged the school management to be committed towards the proper use of the new facilities and ensure the protection of the school property from any form vandalization.

Earlier in her remarks, the Principal Mrs Funmilayo Adeyemi commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his unrelenting efforts towards the development of the state especially in the educational sector and the opportunity given to Osi Community to contribute their quota to the development of the State.

Present at the fora were: the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Information, Mr Olusesan Alabi, the Permanent Secretary Teaching Service Commission, Mr Mike Omolayo, the Executive Secretary Board for Technical and Vocational Education, Mr Biodun Thomas, amongst others.
