All is now set for family, friends, business associates, admirers and fellow golfers to carry out the befitting burial of international businessman and astute strategist, Otunba Abimbola Davis in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
According to the statement issued by the family over the weekend, the deceased author will be buried according to Islamic rites.
Davis who until his death was a prominent member of the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) passed away in the morning of Friday, 5 April, 2024.
According to the details of burial arrangements released by the family, there will be Ceremonial Tee-off and Planting of Tree at Ibadan Golf Club on Wednesday 10th April, 2024 by 10:00am.
Internment follows the next day Thursday 11th April, 2024, at Eternal Home Cemetery Km 25, Ibadan-Oyo Motunde, Afijio Local Government Area of Oyo State by 10:00am. A Janazah Prayer holds at the same venue.
“With gratitude to God Almighty for a Life Well-Spent, The entire family announces the passing unto Glory of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle,” the release partly read.
Otunba Abimbola Davis was a chieftain of the defunct Association for Better Nigeria (ABN).
The golf enthusiast was an author, a strategist and a socialite per excellence. He was the Akinrogun of Ibadanland.
Otunba Abimbola Mosobalaje Davis is survived by wife, Olayinka, Mr Sheriff and other children and grandchildren.
