The maiden edition of the Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo (ITTE) has unveiled the former Nigerian Ambassador to the Philippines, Amb. Yemi Farounbi as the chairman.
The event which is scheduled to hold from Monday 22nd to Tuesday 23rd April at Luxury De Signature Tower Hotel, Jericho Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State will attract dignitaries from across the country.
According to the Initiators of the Expo, Ambassadors Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye further stated that Sir Femi Adefope, the Chairman of GHI Assets will be decorated with Life Time Achievement Tourism Award at the two day Expo.
The event with the theme, maximizing tourism opportunities for sustainable development in Nigeria is a two-day international travel roadshow and exhibition platform, which is aimed at driving the sustainable tourism sector in the country.
The organizers added that the event will bring together stakeholders in the tourism sector, government agencies, environmentalists and influencers to discuss the way forward in the tourism and travelling sector.
Expected at the event include Professor Wasiu Babalola, a Professor of Hotel Management and Tourism who is billed to give the keynote address while the Deputy Director of Programs at Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Niyi Dahunsi will anchor the Expo.
Other array of speakers include popular broadcaster, Edmund Obilo, erudite international current affairs analyst, Chief Jide Ojo, Former National President of NUJ, Prince Lanre Ogundipe, DG Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development Amb. Wale Ojo Lanre among others.
The organizers further revealed that the Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo will climax with a dinner which serves as the 10th year anniversary of the popular tourism radio show, “Travel with the Twins” anchored by the Oguntoye twin brothers.
The Nigeria National Park Service, Nigeria Conservation Foundation, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, GHi Assets, Business Travel Management, South African Airways, RwandaAir, Ife Grand Resorts, Stay Up Aviation College among others will be exhibiting at the Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo.
