Grammy nominee and global Afrobeats star, Davido has taken his philanthropic gestures a notch higher.
On April 17, 2024 the Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York witnessed the generosity of the son of a Nigerian billionaire, Dr Adedeji Adeleke when he ‘blessed’ a female attendee of his concert with the sum of $50,000 (N50 million).
As always, Davido didn’t just surprise the female attendee with the huge sum, it was borne out of his seeming genuine love to help those in need. During his performance at the capacity filled concert, he had spotted the attendee with a placard seeking for help in repaying her student loan.
Upon seeing the placard amidst the audience, the DMW record label owner received it while on stage and demanded that the lady should come to stage, where he asked her the amount of the loan. The female fan stated that the student loan was over $103,000.
However, Davido instructed one of his aides with the name Dayo to give her $50,000.
The female attendee of the show had gotten a used ticket of $49.00 (N54, 478) to recoup her student loan repayment to the tune of $50,000 (N50 million).
