Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State will on Monday 19th August, 2024 commission three newly reconstructed/rehabilitated roads in Ado Ekiti metropolis.
The State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun who made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti listed scheduled for commissioning as HMB- Doctors Quarters Road, Obisesan/Oke Ala Road, Basiri and Jimoh Aliu – Adewumi Road.
Reiterating the commitment of the present administration to instituting a sustainable road network that will ease road congestion, raise productivity especially in the agricultural sector by lowering production cost thus boosting socioeconomic activities in the State, Rt. Hon. Olatunbosun explained that the road projects of the administration are strategically designed to boost commerce and security as well as to attract investments, development and generally make life easier for the people.
He stressed that “the economic benefits are many, the good it serves for security is clear, and the human convenience is incalculable. The focus is to develop good road networks so that people, goods, and services could move quickly and efficiently in and around the State capital.”
Olatunbosun added that the three roads slated for commissioning were particularly designed to serve as alternate routes, boost accessibility and assist with the control of erosion.
He assured that the roads were made to be durable adding that execution of the projects was duly monitored to conform with global best practice.
According to him, “materials used for the road projects were persistently inspected before passing them as meeting appropriate quality requirement before the jobs are certified for payment to ensure longevity. We do not accept anything short of the standards that we set in our documents, we insist on that.”
