The Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to providing stable power supply in the country.
The Acting Managing Director, Engr. Francis Agoha revealed this in a statement during the week while emphasizing IBEDC’s unwavering dedication to national development.
The Acting MD further congratulates all Nigerians on the celebration of the country’s 64th Independence anniversary while urging Nigerians to uphold the principles of integrity, hard work and patriotism.
He added, “Electricity is the backbone of any nation’s economy, and IBEDC remains committed to powering Nigeria’s progress by delivering services that enhance lives and support economic growths”.
He further charged IBEDC customers to shun acts of energy theft, including meter tampering and illegal connections.
“Energy theft is not only a crime, punishable by law and attracts a jail time of up to 3years, but it also negatively impacts the quality of service for all customers. It is a disservice to the nation”.
He, however, warned that tampering with electrical installations poses significant safety risks, including severe injuries or fatalities while urging customers to report any cases of energy theft to IBEDC.
The Acting MD further stated that the technical teams are ready to address any faults or issues that may arise during the holiday while encouraging customers to utilize the company’s convenient payment channels such as IBEDCPAY app as well as IRecharge, Quickteller, Payarena, Jumia, Watu, Buypower, and ATMs to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
