The Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc has advised its customers to prioritize safety and avoid hazardous practices during the Christmas celebration.
The Electricity distribution company further extended its greetings to all Christians and Nigerians while highlighting that the birth of Jesus Christ symbolizes sacrificial love, a virtue that all humanity should strive to embody.
The Managing Director, Engr. Francis Agoha stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
He further stated that IBEDC has implemented measures to ensure network stability and smooth operations throughout the holiday season while cautioning customers against energy theft and illegal connections.
The statement reads in part, “In anticipation of customer needs during the holidays, we are fully prepared to address faults and to minimize disruptions in power supply. Energy theft is a criminal act that affects service quality for everyone and hampers our collective progresses”
The Electricity distribution company further urged customers to report any suspicious activities, energy theft and other related issues to IBEDC offices.
Additionally, IBEDC further encourages customers to use its secure and convenient payment platforms to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during the holidays stating that the platforms include the IBEDCPAY app Quickteller, Payarena, Jumia, Watu, Buypower, IRecharge, and ATMs.
