The gubernatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has hailed Governor Seyi Makinde for the successful rescue and release of the pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area, declaring that the governor has ‘written his name in history’ through his courageous and resolute handling of the security challenge.
Adekanmbi, in a statement issued on Friday through the Bimbo Adekanmbi Volunteer Group (BAMVG), said the safe return of the victims to their families was a testament to Makinde’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, describing the governor as a leader who stood firmly with his people at a critical moment.
The APM governorship candidate noted that from the onset of the incident, Governor Makinde remained calm, strategic and focused, resisting pressure to bow to the demands of the kidnappers while working closely with security agencies to secure the victims’ freedom.
According to him, the governor’s steadfastness throughout the ordeal reflected responsible leadership and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to confront criminality without compromising the security interests of the state.
“Governor Seyi Makinde has written his name in history. At a time when fear and uncertainty gripped the state, he stood firmly with the people, demonstrated uncommon courage and refused to allow criminal elements dictate the actions of government. His leadership throughout the operation deserves the commendation of every well-meaning resident of Oyo State,” the statement read.
Adekanmbi also applauded the gallantry and professionalism of the security agencies whose coordinated efforts led to the successful rescue of the victims, saying the operation underscored the importance of collaboration in tackling insecurity.
He expressed joy over the safe reunion of the pupils and their teachers with their families, describing the development as a moment of relief for the entire state.
The governorship candidate urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information capable of strengthening the fight against kidnapping and other criminal activities, expressing confidence that Oyo State would continue to enjoy improved security under sustained cooperation between the government, security agencies and the people.
