‎The All Progressives Congress House of Assembly candidate in Lagelu State Constituency, Hon. Hassan Giwa, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the safe rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

‎Giwa said the successful operation reflects the commitment of the Tinubu-led federal government to restoring safety in schools and communities across the country and to ensuring that no Nigerian child is left at the mercy of criminal elements.

‎The APC chieftain, in a statement on Friday, described the rescue after 56 days in captivity as “a demonstration of renewed political will, professionalism, and improved coordination among the military, the DSS, and the police.”

‎He particularly commended the strategic plan adopted by the security agencies, which ensured that all the victims were rescued unhurt, while eight of the abductors were arrested and others neutralized without any collateral damage.

‎”The precision and intelligence-driven approach deployed by our security forces is commendable. The fact that the children and their teachers were brought out alive is proof that the Tinubu administration is serious about protecting lives and securing learning environments,” Giwa stated.

‎He noted that the operation sent a strong signal that the government would no longer tolerate attacks on innocent children and educators.

‎”I join Mr. President and all well-meaning Nigerians in expressing profound joy over this rescue. This shows that when there is leadership commitment, our security forces can deliver results. The Tinubu administration deserves commendation for prioritizing the safety of lives and for providing the needed support to security agencies,” he said.

‎Giwa also lauded the Oyo State Government for cooperating fully with federal security agencies throughout the rescue operation.

‎”The synergy between the federal and Oyo State governments is what made the operation possible. I urge Governor Makinde to invest more in school security, intelligence gathering, and community policing to prevent a recurrence,” he added.

‎He called on community leaders, parents, and traditional rulers in Oyo State to support government efforts by providing timely information to security agencies.

‎Giwa further urged emergency management agencies to work with the state government to provide medical care, psychosocial support, and relief materials to the rescued children and their teachers.
