Turkish Champions Fenerbahçe Sign Nigerian Playmaker

Turkish Women’s Football Super League champions Fenerbahçe have confirmed the signing of Nigeria’s Super Falcons midfielder Abideen Suliat Olajumoke.

The former Edo Queens playmaker joins the Yellow Canaries from ABB Fomget GSK and has signed a contract that will keep her at Fenerbahçe until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old is expected to represent the Istanbul club in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Fenerbahçe announced the player’s arrival in a statement on their official website.

“Fenerbahçe Women’s Football Team has added Abideen Suliat Olajumoke, an attacking player who played for ABB Fomget GSK in the Turkcell Women’s Super League last season, to its squad,” the club wrote.

“The 24-year-old player signed a contract that will keep her with the Yellow and Blue colors until the end of the season.

“We welcome her to our club and wish her many successes in our striped jersey.

“Welcome to our club. We wish you many successes in our Çubuklu jersey,” Fenerbahçe wrote.

The talented midfielder will join compatriots Flourish Sebastine and Regina Otu at Fenerbahçe, with both players already part of the club’s squad.

Abideen won the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title in 2024 and was named Player of the Tournament.

She was also named the Most Valuable Player at the 2024 WAFU-B Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

Renowned for her versatility, stamina, ball-carrying ability, and tenacious tackling, she is widely regarded as one of the top midfielders in the Turkish Women’s Super League, scoring 15 goals in 41 appearances for ABB Fomget GSK in the Turkish top-flight.

Fenerbahçe won the Turkcell Women’s Football Super League last season and will feature in the UEFA Champions League in the 2026/27 season.
