The Kano State Police Command has arrested a woman for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and completely severing his manhood.
The violent altercation occurred in the Badawa area of the state.
The command disclosed this in a statement on Monday, noting that the victim sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to the police, the female suspect was taken into custody following the incident, while detectives have commenced an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the attack.
“The Kano State Police Command has arrested a female suspect for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and completely cutting off his manhood during a violent altercation in Badawa,” the statement read.
The police added that the victim is undergoing treatment at a medical facility, while further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The statement added, “The victim is receiving medical treatment, while investigations are ongoing.”
The Kano incident adds to a string of similar cases reported across the country in recent times.
In May 2025, PUNCH reported that a 43-year-old woman identified as Gift was arrested in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after allegedly biting off the tip of her lover’s penis during a dispute that started when he demanded sex she had refused.
In October 2024, a 28-year-old woman, Yemisi Ogunlana, was arrested in Ogun State for allegedly using a sharp object to cut her husband’s manhood during an argument in the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo.
PUNCH also reported a June 2024 case in Kaduna State, where a newlywed woman allegedly attempted to cut off her husband’s manhood, though neighbours intervened before she could complete the act.
