It is true that some men lose all sense of decorum and self-restraint when they become wealthier than they ever dreamed of, especially those from lowly beginnings.
Nyesom Wike, who has somehow transformed himself into a political clown, continues to ridicule Nigeria’s democracy, attacking revered democratic institutions and making a mockery of the political sphere.
In the most bizarre arrangement ever witnessed in Nigeria, you have a politician claiming to be a member of one political party, yet doing everything within his power to destroy the political party to the benefit of another political party.
There’s only one word for that, and it screams, “Traitor!” Wike’s pathetic exuberance, akin to a power-drunk tyrannical clan head, will come to an end one day, soon.
That the FCT minister who has now been stamped with the moniker, “Emperor of Abuja’ because of his continuous disregard of the rule of law, within the city and on the national space – could launch a tirade of insults on elder statesman, Chief Bode George and one of the founding fathers of the PDP, the party that took him from the most decrepit corner of the creeks of the Niger – Delta and shaped him into somebody who could attain the seat of governor – shows how power drunk and ungrateful Wike has become.
Wike’s campaign of calumny, falsehood, and outright lies is indeed pathetic and must be countered.
Wike tried to paint Bode George in a manner that would bring public opprobrium to the elder statesman. That itself shows the reasoning of the pathetic little man from Obiakpo who providence pushed from ignonimy to reckoning. Rather than gratitude, he chose calumny. As they say, ‘Wash a pig, bathe a pig, and it will still remain a pig.’
Wike, a trained lawyer, has suddenly developed selected amnesia on the exoneration granted to Chief Bode George by the Supreme Court from all corrupt allegations during his tenure as Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Board. Today, history records what played out at the time: clear political witch hunting. Why Wike, a so called lawyer would develop a foggy brain and faulty memory over that judgement by the Supreme Court, shows that he was on a mission to ridicule the elder statesman but what he forgot is that people don’t forget.
Isn’t it rather ironical that a man who is being accused of being a shameless land grabber, both in his former state, Rivers and the FCT, a man who has been fingered in countless cases of selling lands to his sons, friends and cronies, to the extent of allegedly selling land meant for the building of a General Hospital meant to service an area of Abuja called, Wuye District – has the audacity to question ownership of Chief Bode George’s residence in Maitama, Abuja or does he also want to add that property to the list of those he may appropriate to himself?
We are watching Nyesom Wike, a man who over – stretches his boundaries will one day fall over the edge – a lesson he learned in a very tiny portion when a young CSO threw him out of a property, a shameful affair that was nationally reported. I assure him that there’s more to come.
Apparently, President Tinubu is using Wike as a loaded gun to distract and silent every dissenting voice through any means, including roguish oppression and dispossession. It is also true that after Tinubu, Wike’s inglorious political career would be over, because Tinubu, a rugged man himself, does not suffer fools gladly and already knows the trajectory of Wike’s perfidious character – the chronicles of treachery – from the Odilis who brought him out of ignonimy to Amachi who gave him a place at the table of political elites, then the Jonathans who he callously betrayed and finally the mother of all betrayals, the PDP, a party which made him who he is today. Wike is a very dishonorable, low-life scumbag!
The Lagos PDP has been the most desecrated institution since the days of Obasanjo’s persecution of Chief Bode George through to Buhari, Atiku Abubakar and now Tinubu, Lagos has always been targeted and men without character such as Deji Doherty employed to do the dirty work of polarizing or completely selling out the party.
Nyesom Wike is on the front roll of politicians who have made truancy a part of our polity. A braggart who depends on ephemeral power to unleash verbal terrorism on those who cross his path, not sparing the traditional custodians of his land. He trashes out at everybody using the lowest language, playing god, and forgetting there is a God.
That Wike needs serious psychological evaluation is no longer in doubt; we just pray he doesn’t run into the market naked one day when the gods have had enough of his devious shenanigans.
Plus, Wike must know that, but for politics, the names Wike and Bode George won’t be mentioned in the same sentence. Where one is a political ‘jaguda,’ the other is a respected statesman. The world shall witness the fall of this crass politician called Wike when accountability comes calling, and that’s a fact.
