The Movement for Electoral Integrity in Nigeria (MEIIN) has commenced the final phase of its mobilisation and election-readiness campaign across Osun State ahead of the Saturday, August 15, 2026, governorship election.
The organisation’s Director-General and National Convener, Hon. Adewale Fasade, alongside members of the management team, are currently in the state to coordinate and supervise MEIIN’s activities as the election draws closer.
According to a statement signed by Olanrewaju Agiri, National Director of Media and Publicity of the organisation, Fasade has directed MEIIN’s structures across the state’s 30 Local Government Areas, 332 wards and 3,763 polling units to remain fully mobilised and organised in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
MEIIN said the election is particularly significant to the people of Osun State, arguing that the contest goes beyond political succession to issues concerning governance, economic development, infrastructure, employment, accountability and the overall welfare of residents.
Against this backdrop, the organisation said its coordinators, officers, members and volunteers across the state had been instructed to strengthen their grassroots structures, particularly at the ward and polling-unit levels, in line with its mobilisation strategy.
The group also directed all national officers assigned to Osun State to join the Director-General in the state by Wednesday, August 12, for final coordination meetings, field-operation assessments and logistical preparations ahead of the election.
MEIIN further appealed to eligible voters to exercise their civic responsibilities peacefully and in accordance with the law.
It also urged political parties, candidates, supporters, security agencies and other stakeholders to maintain peace and uphold the integrity of the electoral process before, during and after the election.
The organisation reiterated its commitment to promoting credible elections, voter participation, electoral integrity, and responsible democratic governance.
Fasade said the group believes that sustained grassroots mobilisation and collective commitment could usher Osun State into what he described as “a new chapter of purposeful, accountable and development-orientated governance”.
He added that MEIIN remained committed to efforts aimed at addressing underdevelopment and restoring “hope, progress and prosperity” to the people of the state.
