The Executive Committee and the entire Muslim Ummah of Ago Ebira Central Mosque, Mokola, Ibadan, have expressed appreciation to the Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, for his 10 million naira contribution towards the ongoing reconstruction of the mosque.
The 10 million naira intervention is the latest in a series of support to communities and faith-based organizations, associated with Olajide across the Oyo South senatorial district.
In a letter of appreciation dated August 10, 2026, the mosque leadership described the donation as generous and significant to the completion of the reconstruction project, praying that Allah would richly reward the lawmaker for his contribution and various efforts in the path of Allah.
The appreciation followed Olajide’s donation during his visit to the mosque, where he joined the Muslim ummah for the Friday jumat prayer and addressed the congregation on the importance of peace, unity, and responsible leadership.
The federal lawmaker, who represents the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, appealed to the worshippers to continue praying for political leaders at all levels, saying the political class requires divine guidance and wisdom in discharging its responsibilities to the people. He also reiterated his commitment to supporting projects capable of improving the welfare of residents.
The mosque leadership, in the letter signed by its chairman, Mr. Musa Haruna, and general secretary, Surv. AbdulRaheem, prayed that Allah would accept Olajide’s contribution as an act of Ibadah and bless his endeavors. The community, while expressing gratitude for the intervention, invoked the Quranic teaching on charity and divine reward, stressing that contributions made in the service of allah and humanity would not go unrewarded.
The gesture, according to the mosque community, would further support efforts to provide a befitting place of worship for residents of Ago Ebira and adjoining communities in Mokola.
Earlier, renowned Islamic scholar Prof. Daud Amao Alaga, who welcomed Olajide to the mosque, commended his longstanding commitment to promoting religious harmony and identifying with the developmental needs of communities.
Alaga described the lawmaker’s intervention as an indication of his constant engagement with religious institutions and the larger community, noting that such gestures promote peaceful co-existence and foster closer relationships among people of different backgrounds. He urged other leaders and well-meaning Nigerians to emulate initiatives that contribute to the development of communities and the welfare of the people.
