Arsenal have been warned that a move for Victor Osimhen could carry a steep financial price, with the Nigeria striker currently out-earning the club’s own top earner, Bukayo Saka, at Galatasaray.
Osimhen, who completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray from Napoli in May 2026, has started the new season in prolific form, registering four goals and one assist in his opening two Super Lig matches. The form has fuelled renewed transfer speculation, with Arsenal reportedly in the market for a marquee centre-forward and linked with both Osimhen and Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez.
Writing in The Sun, digital journalist Kieran Davies cautioned that prising Osimhen away from Galatasaray would not come cheap, questioning what Arsenal would need to offer to convince the former African Footballer of the Year to leave Turkey.
Osimhen currently earns around £326,000 a week in Turkey — a figure that eclipses Saka, reportedly Arsenal’s highest earner on an estimated £300,000 a week, by £26,000. Any move would likely require Osimhen to accept reduced wage demands for a deal to be workable.
Davies stated matter-of-factly: “You have to wonder what Arsenal would have to offer Victor Osimhen to prise him away from Galatasaray. He is currently on £326k per week in Turkey and would not doubt want more from any potential suitors.”
Beyond his weekly salary, Osimhen’s Galatasaray deal includes a guaranteed annual salary of €15 million, a net loyalty bonus of €1 million per season, and a further €5 million a year in image rights.
