The Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola De-Damak, has expressed deep sadness over the death of the former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Alhaji Waheed Olajide.
He died on Tuesday, as confirmed by the family on Wednesday.
In a statement released by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Faysol Oluwakemi, Aare Musulumi described the late Waheed Olajide as a committed public servant, a devout Muslim, and a man of integrity who served Oyo State with dignity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility.
He noted that the deceased made meaningful contributions to the administration and development of Oyo State during his years of service, describing his death as a painful loss to his family, the Muslim community, Oyo State, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Aare Musulumi said Alhaji Waheed Olajide’s commitment to public service and devotion to his faith reflected a life defined by responsibility, humility, and service to humanity.
He commiserated with the immediate family, relatives, friends, associates, and the people of Oyo State, praying that Allah grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He also prayed that Allah forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds, and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
Aare Musulumi urged the family to take solace in the worthy legacy left behind by the deceased and the positive impact of his years of service to Oyo State.
