The Southwest Woman Leader of the Movement for Electoral Integrity in Nigeria (MEIIN), Mrs. Yetunde Falana, has congratulated Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao on the official flag-off of his campaign tagged Arise 2027 for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Falana, in a statement, pledged the support of MEIIN towards Arisekola’s political aspiration, particularly through voter and electoral education across the constituency.
She said the organisation would focus on educating eligible voters on the electoral process, their civic responsibilities, and the importance of participating responsibly in elections.
According to her, electoral education and integrity remain central to MEIIN’s activities, stressing that an informed electorate is important to the conduct of credible and peaceful elections in Nigeria.
Arisekola Alao formally flagged off his campaign in Ibadan on Thursday, October 1, 2026, ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election. The campaign event, held at the Police Barracks Open Field, Yemetu, was attended by APC leaders, supporters, and other stakeholders from Ibadan North and Oyo State.
He also outlined an agenda that includes the proposed establishment of a National Job Centre in Ibadan North to improve young people’s access to employment opportunities and skills development.
Falana’s pledge places MEIIN’s proposed intervention around electoral awareness rather than campaign mobilisation, with emphasis on ensuring that residents understand the voting process and exercise their civic responsibilities.
MEIIN has also been involved in election-related mobilisation and voter-focused activities elsewhere in the Southwest and Nigeria as a whole. In August 2026, the organisation said it had structures across Osun State and was undertaking election-readiness activities ahead of the state’s governorship election.
