Medical expert and Ekiti-born philanthropist, Dr. Ademola Tosin Ojo (DATO), has received two prestigious awards in recognition of his humanitarian contributions and community-oriented initiatives as Nigeria marked its 66th Independence anniversary.
The first award was presented to Dr. Ojo on October 1, 2026, in Victoria Island, Lagos State, Nigeria, at an event organised by Elitist Media, where he was honored with the Distinguished Nigeria Award.
The ceremony attracted members and supporters of the DATO Foundation, who turned out in large numbers to celebrate and support the philanthropist for his contributions to humanity and community development.
The second recognition came in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa, where Dr. Ojo was honored with the WWMRA Award at a ceremony organised by the Mission African Organisation.
Speaking on the recognitions, Dr. Ojo expressed appreciation to the organisers of both award ceremonies for recognising his efforts and for their support for his community-oriented projects.
He reaffirmed his commitment to serving humanity, stressing that there is no greater satisfaction than contributing positively to people’s lives and putting smiles on their faces.
Dr. Ojo, who is widely known for his humanitarian interventions and community development initiatives, has continued to support programmes aimed at improving the well-being and economic empowerment of members of his community.
He is also the organiser of the forthcoming Farmers’ Summit, scheduled to be held on October 22, 2026, an initiative aimed at promoting agriculture, empowering farmers, and contributing to food security and sustainable development.
The double recognition, according to observers, further underscores Dr. Ojo’s growing impact in humanitarian service and community development both within Nigeria and among Nigerians in the diaspora.
