Bursaspor head coach Mustafa Er has praised Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, for his impressive performances since joining the Turkish club.

The former Manchester City player joined the Green Crocodiles on a free transfer in the summer and has quickly established himself as a key figure in their promotion push.

The 30-year-old striker has made an outstanding start to life at Bursaspor, recording 12 goals and two assists in just nine league appearances.

Er expressed satisfaction with Iheanacho’s contribution, noting that the club worked hard to secure the striker’s signature and expects him to deliver goals.

“We transferred Iheanacho so that he would score goals. We worked very hard for that transfer. We also need to thank our management,” Er said, according to the club’s official website.

The Bursaspor manager also revealed that the forward attracted interest from several clubs before choosing to join the Green Crocodiles.

“There was a lot of demand for him. The size of the club was also very important in his choosing us. We are getting the contribution we want,” he added.

Er also highlighted the team’s progress, praising the improvement in team spirit and overall productivity as Bursaspor continues their push for promotion.

The coach expressed hope that Iheanacho would maintain his impressive scoring form in the club’s upcoming fixture.

“Iheanacho continues to score. I hope he scores this week too. We have a positive team,” he said.

“There is tremendous progress in team spirit. Productivity is also increasing. People are more productive when they are happy. We win as a team.”
