Nigeria’s Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze, is facing a prolonged spell on the sidelines after sustaining a left hip injury.
The former Villarreal winger complained of hip pain following AC Milan‘s 3-2 victory over Atalanta on Sunday, October 18, 2026, and subsequently missed training ahead of the club’s UEFA Europa League match against Bournemouth.
According to Sport Mediaset, Chukwueze is expected to undergo a specialist examination to establish the severity of the injury.
The 27-year-old reportedly experienced discomfort in his left hip, raising concerns within the Milan camp about the extent of the problem.
The Italian club fears the injury could keep the winger out for several weeks or potentially months, depending on the outcome of further medical assessments.
Chukwueze has made an encouraging start to the season under Ruben Amorim following his return from a loan spell at Fulham.
The winger has recorded two assists in eight appearances across all competitions for the Serie A side this season.
The timing of Chukwueze’s injury creates a major tactical headache for manager Rúben Amorim, as the Rossoneri right flank is completely depleted.
