Edwin Clark University (ECU), Kiagbodo, Delta State, has conferred an Honorary Doctor of Management Science (D.MSc Honoris Causa) in Entrepreneurial Finance and Management on the founder of Ultra Goldfield Logistics Limited (UK), Mr. ‘Bade Adeshina.

The prestigious honour was bestowed on Saturday, November 29, 2025, during the university’s combined 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th convocation ceremonies held at the ECU Auditorium. The event also featured a convocation lecture titled “Africa’s Digital Destiny: Building Human Capital for a Connected Future,” delivered by Mr. Davide Daser, President and CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute.

Adeshina, a distinguished finance professional and management executive, boasts nearly four decades of experience spanning academics, commercial and investment banking, discount house operations, asset management and public service. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees and multiple fellowships, including FCIB, FIoD and FNIM, alongside professional qualifications from the United Kingdom.

His career has taken him across top leadership roles in both the private and public sectors, enriched by international exposure through programmes at Harvard Business School, Stanford, Kellogg, Wharton and Lagos Business School. He is also a fellow of CPIN, IAPM, and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, as well as a member of the UK-based Chartered Securities and Investment Institute (MCSI).

As Founder and Director of Ultra Goldfield Logistics Limited, Adeshina leads a company that deploys Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to enhance logistics efficiency through pricing models, route optimisation and vehicle capacity management.

He previously served on the Governing Council of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), where he contributed significantly to the institution’s successful separation process and chaired the Finance and General Purpose Committee.

In his acceptance speech, Adeshina expressed deep gratitude to the university, noting that the recognition reinforces his belief in ethical leadership, continuous learning and service to society. He described the award as both an honour and a call to further contribute to national development, adding that he hopes his journey inspires young Nigerians to pursue excellence with discipline and integrity.

This year’s convocation is historic for Edwin Clark University, featuring the induction of its first-ever Nursing Science graduands—an important milestone in the institution’s growing health sciences programme. Adeshina now joins the list of distinguished personalities honoured by ECU, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, who received a D.Sc. (Honoris Causa) during the institution’s maiden convocation in 2019.
