A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Oyo State House of Assembly hopeful in Lagelu State Constituency, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa, has been honored with the Icon of Ibadan Heritage award by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).
This award, according to the apex Socio-Cultural group, recognizes his outstanding contributions to the development of Ibadanland.
The award is part of the 2026 Ibadan Cultural Festival, recognizing Giwa’s humanitarian work, cultural preservation, and community empowerment initiatives.
Giwa, who is also the Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadanland, has received numerous awards for his philanthropic efforts, including the Julius Nyerere Outstanding Honour 2023 from Young African Professionals and Entrepreneurs (YAPE-AFRICA).
His foundation, Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, focuses on education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and charity work.
In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Arc Giwa expressed gratitude to the CCII leadership, acknowledging their recognition of his efforts. He highlighted the award’s significance and how it motivates him to continue serving the community.
While reaffirming his commitment to contributing to Ibadanland and Nigeria’s development, the Oyo State House of Assembly hopeful acknowledged the CCII’s efforts in promoting Ibadan’s cultural heritage and inspiring young people.
