IGP Disu Pays Courtesy Visit To Chief Justice Of Nigeria, Seeks Deeper Police-Judiciary Collaboration

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, has paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the judiciary in advancing effective criminal justice administration and the rule of law.

During the visit, the inspector general commended the leadership of the judiciary in promoting judicial integrity, constitutional governance, and the administration of justice.

He emphasised that the police and the judiciary remain indispensable partners in the criminal justice system and stressed the need for sustained collaboration to improve the quality of investigations, strengthen prosecution support, and promote the timely dispensation of justice.

He also underscored the importance of the effective implementation of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) and corresponding state laws in enhancing efficiency and reducing delays in criminal proceedings.

IGP Disu further highlighted the Force’s ongoing investments in forensic science, intelligence-led policing, digital investigation capabilities, and other modern policing initiatives.

He noted that closer collaboration with the judiciary in the use of technology and capacity-building programmes would further strengthen criminal justice delivery.
