Forum To Immortalize Oyo’s Ex-Governor, Lam Adesina Inaugurated

In order to see to how the former governor of the state, Alhaji Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina will be immortalized for his selfless service demonstrated while in government during his lifetime, LAM 1999/2003 Forum has been inaugurated.

The forum will also form a virile political group to influence and shape the direction of things within the political terrain in Oyo State

The group in a press release signed by its Chairman, Dr. Gbola Adetunji and Secretary, Tunde Babarinde at the end of its inaugural meeting held recently, disclosed that the cardinal objective of the group is to promote good governance irrespective of political affiliations both in Oyo State and Nigeria.

The forum, Association of Former Political Functionaries comprises of elected officials, party leaders and officials between 1999 and 2003.

According to the release, “we feel strongly that it is now expedient and indeed long overdue to immortalize Lam Adesina for his selfless service to Oyo State.

“We owe it as a cardinal objective to promote good governance in Oyo State and Nigeria irrespective of our political persuasions.”

LAM 1999/2003 Forum has resolved to uphold the principle of equality among the people irrespective of political status as demonstrated by late Alh. Lamidi Adesina when he was alive.

Attendance list at the meeting included former Deputy Governor, Barr. Iyiola Oladokun, former Speakers, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape, Hon Kehinde Ayoola, Chief Pekun Adesokan, Chief (Mrs.) Bukola Oni, Otunba Gbola Adetunji and Chief Caleb Oyaniyi.

Others included Hon. Kazeem Adedeji, Hon. Babs Oduyoye, Gbenga Olayemi, Yahaya Akinbile, Hon. Emmanuel Adelowo, Sola Ogunbode, Erelu Funke Olayanju, and Hon. Adewolu Oluokun among others.
