The Agba-Akin Bobajiro of Ibadanland, Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu, popularly known as KSO, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja Arusa I, on his 82nd birthday and first anniversary on the throne.
Abidikugu, a United Kingdom-based psychiatric consultant and House of Representatives candidate for Ibadan South-East and North-East Federal Constituency on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), conveyed the message in a statement personally signed and made available to journalists on Saturday.
He described Oba Ladoja as a former senator, governor and businessman who had brought a combination of political and administrative experience and traditional knowledge to the Olubadan throne.
According to him, the monarch’s first year on the throne had been significant in the history of Ibadanland, particularly in promoting peace, stability and the development of the traditional institution in Ibadan and Oyo State.
Abidikugu recalled that during his coronation, Oba Ladoja openly called for the creation of Ibadan State from the present Oyo State, with President Bola Tinubu present at the event. Politics
He said the monarch had, within his first year, continued to contribute to the development of Ibadanland.
Abidikugu identified the monarch’s efforts against land grabbing, initiatives aimed at reviving businesses and closed factories owned by indigenes, and efforts to create employment opportunities for youths among his notable contributions.
He also said Oba Ladoja had used his relationship with President Tinubu to facilitate the reconstruction of the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, which was recently inaugurated. Politics
Abidikugu said Oba Ladoja had continued to demonstrate wisdom, experience, humility and commitment to the unity and progress of Ibadanland since ascending the throne on September 26, 2025, as the 44th Olubadan.
He urged Ibadan sons and daughters at home and abroad to celebrate the monarch and pray for his continued good health, long life and peaceful reign.
Abidikugu wished Oba Ladoja many more years on the throne and in service to Ibadanland.
