Sheerah Generation 2026: Ex-CP Sybil Akinfenwa Launches Inspirational Initiative For Women, Families, Young People

A new faith-based inspirational initiative, SHEERAH GENERATION 2026, is set to bring together policewomen, police wives, and schoolchildren in a week-long programme designed to inspire participants towards outstanding performance, purposeful liv and positive impact in society.

The initiative is the brainchild of Apostle Dr. Sybil Olufunmilayo Akinfenwa, a clergywoman and retired Commissioner of Police, who said the inspiration for the programme came to her as far back as 2019 while studying the Scriptures.

According to Akinfenwa, she subsequently decided to translate the inspiration into a practical ministry initiative in 2026, with the intention of making SHEERAH GENERATION an annual programme.

Akinfenwa, who retired from the Nigeria Police Force after 32 years of service, previously served in various capacities involving investigations, operations, and administration. She is also a minister of the gospel and the secretary of Victorious Christ Chapel Church, Nigeria.

The account is found in 1 Chronicles 7:24, where Scripture records, “His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth-horon as well as Uzzen-sheerah.”

Sheerah appears in the genealogy associated with Ephraim, and the biblical record specifically associates her with the building of Lower Beth-horon, Upper Beth-horon, and Uzzen-sheerah.

“This biblical picture provides the conceptual foundation for SHEERAH GENERATION: a generation of people who do not merely receive inspiration but translate inspiration into action, build others, and leave a positive legacy.

“The initiative’s emphasis is therefore particularly significant for women and young people. Sheerah’s story demonstrates that a woman whose name occupies only one verse of Scripture can nevertheless be remembered for works that extended beyond her immediate generation,” Akinfenwa noted.

The first edition of SHEERAH GENERATION 2026 commenced on Monday, October 5, 2026, through Akinfenwa Victorious, the Facebook livestream platform associated with the ministry, and also coincides with her birthday.

The programme will subsequently move beyond the virtual space into targeted outreach programmes involving three different groups within Ibadan.

The first outreach is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with policewomen of the Oyo State Police Command, Ibadan, as the audience.

On Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., the programme will focus on police wives of the Oyo State Police Command.

The third outreach, scheduled for Friday, October 9, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., will be directed at schoolchildren of Lead British International School, Jericho, Ibadan.

The choice of the three audiences reflects the broad vision of the initiative: to encourage excellence and purposeful living among women in public service, families supporting public servants, and young people who represent the next generation.

The week-long programme will culminate in a Grand Finale on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Victorious Christ Chapel Auditorium, beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the theme capturing the central philosophy behind the initiative—that inspiration should not end with an emotional experience but should produce performance, transformation, and tangible impact.

In this sense, the biblical Sheerah becomes more than a name. She represents the possibility of turning vision into construction, inspiration into enterprise, and personal ability into something that benefits a wider community.

SHEERAH GENERATION 2026 consequently seeks to challenge participants to identify their God-given potential, develop it, and deploy it in ways that positively affect their families, professions, communities, and future generations.

From Inspiration to Legacy

GENERATION 2026 is positioned as a new platform through which Akinfenwa hopes to transform a personal spiritual inspiration received years ago into an enduring annual ministry of inspiration, empowerment, and purposeful performance.

As the programme moves towards its Grand Finale under the banner “BE INSPIRED,” its message is clear: inspiration is only the beginning; the real assignment is to build.
