Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi was visibly excited with his leveler for Leicester City in the Premier League match against West Ham, but the goal is the only thing the Nigerian midfielder was happy about on the night.
In the 89th minute Ndidi launched a scorcher from outside the box, but it was helped in by a deflection to help Leicester pick a point in the 1-1 result.
However, there was a mild drama in the first-half after West Ham captain Mark Noble was shown a straight red for a high-footed tackle on Ndidi; the latter praised the Referee’s decisiveness in issuing the marching orders.
The Nigerian had been at the receiving end of the high boot by Noble. It caught his ankle as he ran into a challenge, but the Nigerian escaped with just a bruise although it could have been worse.
‘It was a high boot and it caught me in the ankle, I believe the Referee was spot on to have issued a straight red,’ Ndidi said after the match.
Leicester City’s numerical advantage paid off eventually in the game as they had trailed 1-0 from Fabian Balbuena’s 30th minute header.
The goal was Ndidi’s first of the season in the league and the point on the night helped the Foxes stay just a spot above the Hammers, although with a a five point difference.
