The Oyo State chapter of the Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (OMPAN) has hailed the appointment of Tribune’s political editor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, as Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Seyi Makinde, describing it the right and strategic move.

OMPAN, in a congratulatory message signed by its state chairman, Mr Remi Oladoye and made available to pressmen by the Public Relations Officer of the group, Dare Adeniran, said, “the new CPS, Mr Taiwo Adisa is an experienced and responsible communication expert.”

“Mr Taiwo Adisa is one of the leaders many of us consider as a role model in the media profession and we expect that his involvement in the government will go a long way in projecting the image and policies of the government through effective communication,” the statement added.

While assuring the new CPS of maximum support, the online media group said they are ready for a mutually benefitting collaboration with government, through prompt and effective dissemination of news in line with ideals for moving Oyo State forward.

The group also commended Makinde for the appointment of Alhaji Akeem Azeez as Personal Assistant, and urged him to bring in more credible and responsible journalists into his media team.

“Alhaji Akeem Azeez is a trustworthy and responsible journalist and we are confident that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him by Makinde” the statement said.
