Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has announced that his key players will be ready for Cameroon in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification Group B match in August 2017.
The Super Eagles are coming off a disappointing 2-0 defeat to South Africa in their first 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification Group E match.
The highly anticipated encounter took place at the Goodswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo last weekend.
Nigeria have now switched their attention onto the World Cup qualifier against their West African rivals Cameroon, the Indomitable Lions.
“South Africa met inexperienced and younger Eagles, that is why they won the match,” Rohr said.
“We did not play with our main team; many of our experienced players were not in the match mainly due to injury.
“But they will be ready for Cameroon.”
The Super Eagles are sitting at the top of the Group B standings having won their first two matches and they are four points above second-placed Cameroon.
Zambia and Algeria are also part of the group. Only the group winners will book their place in the finals which are scheduled for Russia next year.
