Free Eye Surgery: Beneficiaries Hail Kazeem Abidikugu For Kind Gesture

Beneficiaries of free eye surgical operations organized by a Nigerian in the diaspora, Dr. Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu over the weekend expressed their appreciation for the kind gesture.

The free eye surgery was in continuation of the medical mission held at Mapo Hall, where over 1000 indigenes and residents of Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency in Oyo State enjoyed free test and treatment on various health issues such as Malaria, Diabetes, Hypertension and various eye defects

As a follow up to the programme, about 45 of the beneficiaries, whose cases were beyond glasses and drugs have undergone surgeries for various eye defects.

The 45 people are the first batch of the beneficiaries under the free medical outreach of DAKA Foundation; which has Dr. Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu as its founder and Chief Executive Officer.

In their appreciation messages, upon their return from the Eye Foundation Hospital, Ijebu-Mushin, Ogun State, the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Dr. Abidikugu, who was instrumental to show how greatly their ability to see has improved.

Mr. Tunji Jimoh and Mr. Idowu Lawal, who are some of the beneficiaries, narrated that prior to the surgery, they could no longer cross the road, without being aided, but now, they have clear sights.

Also, Mr. Adejare Hakeem and Samuel Taiwo disclosed that they suffered serious eye cataract such that they only recognized people if they came close, until the surgery which has improved their vision.

While speaking, Dr. Abidikugu, stated that the need to help the poor and less privileged who cannot afford getting quality health continues to inform his healthcare interventions.

He said further that provision of healthcare services is expensive and cannot be left to the government alone. Dr. Abidikugu, therefore, called on individuals, groups to continue to support the government in the interest of having a healthy society.
