In continuation of his familiarization tour, the Vice Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor ‘Lanre Olaniyan has paid courtesy visits to major security outfits in Oyo town and the office of the Oyo East Local Government Chairman.
In a release made available by the Special Assistant on Media Matters to the Vice Chancellor, ‘Wale Adeoye, the EAUED, Oyo Chief Executive who led a powerful delegation commenced his visit at the Ojongbodu Divisional Police Office and later to the Atiba Divisional Police Office. The team equally visited NSCDC Area ‘E’ Command, the Oyo Zonal Command of the Amotekun Corp and finally to the Chairman, Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Saheed Adeyemi Arowosaye.
In his remarks during the visits, the renowned economist hammered the need for cordial relations between the University and all the agencies. According to him in some of his comments, “I have come to familiarize myself with you and to inform you that His Excellency, Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE has upgraded the old Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo to a University status which led him to graciously appointing me as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the University. My belief in relationships brought me to you and I am sure our University shall be ready to partner with you from time-to-time. As an institution, we are fully ready to work with you in the area of security of lives and properties.”
In their separate remarks, the DPO Ojongbodu Divisional Police Office, Michael Adeolu Akano; DPO Atiba Divisional Police Office, Kayode Fadogba; NSCDC Area “E” Commandant, Lamidi Sakiru and Oyo Zonal Commandant of Amotekun Corp, Adebowale Fakayode all appreciated the visit of the Vice Chancellor and promised to collaborate with him in the area of security of lives and properties of members of the University community.
In his own remarks, the Chairman, Oyo East Local Government, Hon. Saheed Adeyemi Arowosaye expressed his profound appreciation to the Oyo State Governor on the upgrade of the College and the appointment of Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan as the pioneer Vice Chancellor. “To us in Oyo, this upgrade is long overdue and the Governor has written his name in gold as history shall never forget him. I congratulate you as the pioneer Vice Chancellor and I assure you that as a Council, we shall always be ready to support the institution in our own little capacity”, stated the Council boss.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Director of Works, Arc. Hammed O.
