Former Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, in the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Jumoke Akinjide has said that the party is the only democratic one in Nigeria.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new executive of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ona-Ara local government, Chief Akinjide obliged that even in distress, PDP remains the only political party with traits of democracy in Nigeria, because it follows all tenets of democracy in electing its officers and representatives.
Chief Akinjide, who opined that, her party, PDP, follows all democratic processes in electing and picking its representatives said the Party does not allow imposition of leaders on his members.
Akinjide also urged female members of the Party to participate fully in the activities of the Party and seek for political office under the umbrella of the party.
The PDP woman activist also submitted that the party is the only one that has respect for ‘woman leadership’. She stated further, that the party remains the only one that has ever taken better care of women in Nigeria.
She urged members to be good and accommodating to members of the public and woo them into the Peoples Democratic Party, now that Nigerians are tired of the APC government.
