...Osaze, being presented officially...

Former Super Eagles striker, Osaze Odemwingie was finally snapped up by Indonesian Liga 1 side Madura United on Monday.

Former West Bromwich Albion striker, who has been a free agent since leaving English Championship side, Rotherham United in the winter transfer window, was unveiled to the media in Jakarta on Monday afternoon.

The 35-year-old who had previously played for Lokomotiv Moscow, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City and French club Lille will now continue his football journey in Indonesia.

The event was covered on the club’s official Twitter account – which posted a picture of Odemwingie front and centre of the stage.

But there was something that people couldn’t but notice: just how downbeat he looks about the whole thing.

There was another aspect of the image which caught the eye too – namely the comically sized shirt on the desk:

As one Twitter user explained, “You could fit four Odemwingies in there!”. We’re not arguing with that.

It’s a big change of scenery just a year after being part of Stoke City’s Premier League squad, but we’re sure it’ll all work out fine for you, Pete.

He was part of Nigeria’s squad to the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil and scored Nigeria’s only goal against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Odemwingie also won silver with Nigeria at the 2008 Beijing Olympics as the Under-23 side were beaten by Argentina in the final.

Details of the deal were not revealed by the club but Odemwingie will wear jersey number 24 in his latest football adventure.
