Seven members of an amateur dancing group, Unique Glory Dancers were on Saturday night shocked to their marrows when billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Engineer Seyi Makinde announced that he would take over their education by giving them full scholarships.

The debonair politician made this announcement when delivering his speech during the closing ceremony of the Third Seyi Makinde Women Support Golf Tournament held at the Ibadan Golf Club.

Makinde, who, according to PMParrotng findings, was sponsoring the event for the third time said he decided to act on impulse to help the student dancers because, according to him, “I always want to practice what I say. As a politician, what is important to me most is putting smile on the faces of people.

“These young ones are here to entertain us today and I can see that they are really talented and I can also assume that their challenges are many. This is why my mind told me that the best thing to do is bring them into the Seyi Makinde Scholarship scheme and add them to my numerous children.

“I will, by the grace of God give them full scholarships. My people will talk to them to take their details. The seven of them are now my children”.

The youthful gubernatorial hopeful also seized the opportunity to appeal to fellow politicians to practice what they say especially when it comes to taking good care of people who voted them into power.

Makinde equally used the opportunity to charge members of the Ibadan Golf Club not to relent in their efforts to promote golfing.

“We must not allow the prevalence of recession to dampen our spirits. We must do what we must do. We just need to keep moving because there is a promise from God that though we will be tested, but we must not fail. But let us cut down on some of our excesses so that we can accommodate the needy.”

Members of the Unique Glory Dancers who will enjoy Seyi Makinde’s scholarship include Adedeji Daniel, Malomo Victor Olufemi Miracle, Adedeji Dayo, Obidike Favour, Johnson Rose, Oludairo Damilola and Omisanmi Folasade.
