An Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ilesa has remanded a 36 year old warehouse manager, Kazeem Zakariyah over an alleged fraud of over N5.7 million.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Jimoh Mufutau, told the court that the accused and others now at large committed the offence sometime in the month of May, 2015 at opposite Odooro Motor Park,Ilesa.
Mufutau said that the accused conspired with others now at large to commit felony to wit: obtaining money under false pretence and stealing.
He added that the accused took the advantage of being the manager of the warehouse of Adebambutayo Trading Store, to obtained some goods worth N5.770 million, property of one Busayo Adejumo.
According to him, the offence contravened section 383, and punishable under sections 390 (9), 419 and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The plea of the accused was not taken, despite the fact that his defence counsel, Mr. Olasumbo Afolabi, pleaded for his bail promising that his client would not jump bail, but produce reliable sureties.
Magistrate Joshua Owolawi ordered for the accused be remanded in Ilesa prison till April 28, for ruling on the bail application.
