An education support programme has been launched by Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, representing Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly through his foundation, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF).
On April 17, the senator, at an event held at the prestigious Jogor Centre, Ibadan, gave scholarship awards to over 300 students of tertiary institutions in various institutions across the state.
On the same day, RAAF also launched a compedium of compilation of past questions in English language and Mathematics spanning 30years to several students of Oyo State to facilitate success in their examinations.
Present at the event were students from the nine Local Governments Areas under Oyo South Senatorial District, teachers, officials of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and community leaders.
The Chairman of the occasion who doubled as the special guest of honour /keynote speaker, was Professor Olatunde Fawole, the Rector of the Polytechnic,Ibadan.
He lauded the scholarship support programme of RAAF, describing the education support scheme as very unique in that it is different from other support programmes that the people have seen in Oyo State .
