Media Navigation, a digital advertising agency and film/TV production based in South Africa has been nominated for WAMAS 2017 awards.

The West Africa Mobile Awards (WAMAS) is a key and a major award that recognizes digital innovation by young Africans in the technical and digital space. It is the most respected annual technological gathering of local and international stakeholder in the mobile ecosystem.

According Dan Akinlolu, the founder and CEO of Media Navigation, “It is great to be nominated and shortlisted as one of the finalists for the 2017 technology awards in the digital business.

My personal goal and objective is to disturb the framework that limits creativity. To become a disruptive element is crucial in an age where knowledge and information travels faster across the globe. I can’t be too comfortable in the digital business because new prospects crop up every time. For me it is a thinking business, if you are lazy to think then consider yourself left behind.”

Media Navigation was nominated in the category of Social, News and Entertainment alongside other major startups from across 14 countries. The consideration was based on the company’s mobile TV channel – Mafrik TV a digital mobile channel that streams premium music videos from West Africa 24/7 on the award winning Tuluntulu app. The channel has enjoyed tremendous viewership across the African youths and blacks in the diaspora.

The winners will be announced by industry’s stakeholder and judges, at a special event on May 18th, in Lagos, Nigeria.

Talented Dan Akinlolu worked at PMParrot Evening Newspaper in Ibadan some 12 years ago.
