As part of his efforts to contribute his quota towards the development of education at the grassroots, Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, who represents Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Abuja, has staged the second edition of Omo Oloore Quiz and Debate Competitions among schools across the constituency.
The competition, which was a part of Omo Oloore Educational Support Scheme was held at Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu Ibadan among public and private primary and secondary schools in Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency.
In his speech shortly after the presentation of prizes, Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina noted that his intention is to assist and contribute his quota towards the development of educational sector of the state through a programme like this. It is also to encourage students, who are leaders of tomorrow.
He stated further that as a son of renowned educationist, a former principal and former governor in the state, it has been in his principle to make sure that his effort is channeled towards assisting not only students but also their teachers
Hon Dapo Lam used the opportunity to advise the students to give their studies utmost priority in order to become an important person in the future. He also implored them to look for leaders who have true interest of the children and people at heart as role model whenever they want to have one.
Meanwhile, Anglican Grammar School, Molete and Sunkem Model College emerged winners in the quiz competition of public and private secondary school category, while Omoyeni Memorial Basic School, Adeola and Ebire Nursery and Primary School, Felele emerged winners in the primary category.
In the debate competition, Community Primary School, Oyapidan and Solam Nursery and Primary School, Aremo emerged winners of public and private category, while in the secondary school category; Yejide Girls Grammar School, Molete and Periscope Comprehensive College were the winners of public and private category.
The first edition of Omo Oloore Quiz and Debate Competitions was held at Ibadan Grammar School, Molete.
