Nigeria sole survival in Confederation of Africa Football, Rivers United are now on the verge of crashing out of the Confederation Cup as they lost their second game 2-1 far away Uganda to Kampala City.
The match day 3 played at the Philip Omondi Stadium on Saturday’s defeat confirmed Rivers United to the bottom of Group A table with three point from equal number of games.
Ugandan Striker, Derrick Nsibambi scored a brace, the goals coming between Bolaji Sakin’s spectacular 33rd minute volley.
But that beauty did very little to keep Rivers United in the game or earn them any points in Kampala.
The defeat means the Nigerian side are at the risk of getting knocked out.
The Nigerian side will hope to bounce back to contention for a place in the quarterfinal when they host KCCA on June 20 at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt.
