Bye-Election: Alimodu Sheriff Storms Osun, Says It’s Time For PDP To Unite

The National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Alimodu Sheriff on Wednesday asserted that unity has come to the Osun state chapter of the party.

Sheriff who stated that transformation has begun in Osun PDP appealed to all members of the party to continue to be one.

Addressing party supporters during the PDP campaign of the Osun West senatorial bye-election slated for July 8 at Apomu in Isokan local government area of the state, the PDP national chairman said, “Today is the day that begins the transformation of the PDP, Osun state PDP are intact today and that also shows that unity has come to Osun state, I want this unity to continue after Adeleke’s election I am sure my friend Senator Omisore will agree with me”.

He then introduced the party’s candidate, Otunba Ademola Adeleke as the party flag bearer for the senatorial bye-election urging people of the town to vote for PDP.

Speaking at the event, the Osun state Chairman of the party, Hon.Olasoji Adagunodo appealed to the people to vote for Adeleke come July 8 poll.

Adagunodo charged members of the party to embark on house to house campaign to convince the electorates on the need to vote for the party candidate.

He also urged party faithful in the local governments visited to monitor their votes from the polling booth to the final collation center in Iwo, the senatorial district headquarter, in order to avoid manipulations.

Also speaking, the party’s candidate, Adeleke, appealed to party supporters to vote for him during the poll in order to end the tenure of the All Progressive Congress (APC),who he claimed had held the state by jugular in the last seven years.

He promised the electorates that he would continue with the giant strides of his late brother, Senator Isiaka Adeleke and promised to disburse N25million per local government for scholarship if voted as senator.

In attendance at the campaign were the National Secretary of PDP, Wale Oladipo, former governorship aspirant of Labour Party, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, Senator Iyiola Omisore, House of Member representing Ibokun/Oriade, Hon. Oluwole Oke, Hon. Kayode Oduoye, Former Minister of Youth, Sen. Olasunkanmi Akinlabi, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa among others.
