Osun Bye-Election: How PDP’s Candidate Emerged As Official Winner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Osun state has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Dr. Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the Osun West senatorial district bye-election held on Saturday.

The Chief Returning Officer for the bye-election, Professor Olaide Lawal of Oye Ekiti University who announced the result at Baptist High School, Iwo declared that the PDP candidate polled a total of 97,480 votes while APC polled a total of 66,116 votes.

Adeleke won in nine out of the 10 local governments in the senatorial district.
