Oyo House Passes Forestry Amendment Bill Into Law

The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed Forestry Amendment bill 2017 into law after it scaled through the third reading on the floor of the house.

While presenting the bill during plenary, the Chairman House Committee on Agriculture, Hon Safiu Olalere representing Ido State Constituency said the bill would regulate forestry activities and generate more income for the state government.

The House later constituted itself into the committee of a whole which was headed by the Speaker Hon Michael Adeyemo and considered the bill clause by clause and passed it into law.

The House also read the Oyo state Multi door Court House bill 2017 for second time.

The Deputy Speaker Hon Abdulwasi Musah, Majority Leader, Hon Kehinde Subair, Hon Gbenga Oyekola representing Atiba State constituency, Hon Fatai Adesina of Ibadan South East Constituency I and other lawmakers commended the Executive for raising the bill and called for proper deliberation.

The multi door court house, according to Lawmakers, has been put into place by Lagos state which has helped the state in the speedy administration of justice.

The Speaker,  Hon Michael Adeyemo later passed the bill to House Committee on Justice for further deliberation and to report back in three weeks.

The House has adjourned its sitting till Tuesday 18th July 2017.
