One of Nigeria Notable Chartered Estate Surveyors, Mr Idowu Ayokunnu Aremu has concluded arrangement for the burial of his father, Pa Amos Olalekan Aremu.
Idowu Aremu made this known to PMParrot from his Lagos base during the week.
According to him, Pa Aremu’s last journey will start with a Christian wake keep on Thursday, July20,2017 and the venue is Plot 4&5, Ishola Layout, Orogun Area in Ibadan and it starts by 4 p.m.
He started further that the burial service will hold on Friday, July 21 at Christ Church, Mapo, Ibadan by 10 a.m.
Internment follows immediately after the church service at the Cemetery of Christ Anglican Church, Akinfenwa, Ibadan.
The Surveyor also informed that an exclusive reception in honour of his late father will be held inside the Ultra-Modern International Conference Centre, University Of Ibadan immediately after interment.
He added “Our friends, family and other well wishers are free to join us during any of these events to honour our late Dad. Security and parking arrangements have been taken care of”.
Late Pa Amos Olalekan Aremu who died on May 25, 2017 was born on May 10, 1933. He started off as a teacher and during this period, he studied privately to pass his General Certificate of Education (GCE) at both the ordinary and advanced levels by correspondence. He later obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ibadan.
After this, he joined the Oyo State Civil Service where he rose to the pinnacle of his career. Some of the positions he occupied included being the Sole Administrator of Ibadan Municipal Government (now 11 local governments).
In addition, he served as the Permanent Secretary (later Director General) at the Ministry of Finance and this was between 1988 and 1992 when he retired meritoriously.
The following are his children (biological and non-biological): Venerable (Engineer) Kehinde Adetoyese Aremu (Structural Engineer and Vicar of a Christian Church), Mrs Taiwo Aderounmu, the CEO of Goshen Catering Service Ltd and Mr Ayokunnu Idowu Aremu, a Chartered Estate Surveyor.
Others are Mr Oluyombo Olasupo, a Lagos based Quantity Surveyor, Mr Bola Faleye, Mr Olaolu Emmanuel Afolabi and Mrs Olaitan Oke. The three last children are all Chartered Accountants (Fellows of ICAN).
