As Carl Ikeme continues to receive treatment after being diagnosed with leukemia, Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona has called on all soccer loving Nigerians and beyond to offer more prayers for the lanky goal keeper.
Ikeme was diagnosed of the dreaded disease during a blood test at his English Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers for pre-season.
Oboabona who was a key member of the Super Eagles team that won the African Cup of Nations in South Africa in 2013 said “with God” all things are possible.
“This is the time for all us to be united in praying for the quick recovery of Carl, this is the time for us to raise our voice to heaven and seek divine”.
“We must try as much as possible to always remember Carl in our daily prayers and it is my belief that he will come out stronger “.
Oboabona who was the captain of Sunshine Stars when the Akure based team had its best moments till date in continental club competitions by reaching the semifinals of both the CAF Champions League and the CAF
Confederations Cup, thanked soccer fans worldwide for the love and support expressed for Ikeme.
