
All roads led to the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday, July 29, 2017 where the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi unveiled the 60th anniversary logo of the school.
The event which started about one hour late saw the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Mr Ishmael Olalekan Alli representing the governor. Both are distinguished old students of the great institution.

The chairman of the 60th anniversary committee Chief Tony Aletor used the opportunity to admonish all old students of the school to lift more than a finger to see that their alma mater is returned back to its rightful position as one of the best secondary schools in Nigeria.

Aletor submitted “We plan to have a proper alumni relations department where all our activities will be coordinate. We are lucky in our school because we are the only school in this part of the country that has had its products occupying major political offices in the past 18 years or so.”

In his own remarks, the chairman of Lagelu Grammar School Old Boys Association, Professor Emmanuel Olufemi Omisore, a town planner announced that a new master plan for the school has been produced. He then went ahead to explain the details via a video presentation.

His words “If all old students key into this dream, the school will be turned around for good and all lost glories will return.”
At the event, the new website of the school was also unveiled.
Said Professor Omisore “All old boys can get to know more about the school via www.lagsoba.org.ng

Lagsoba’s distinguished awards were given out to the likes of Barrister (Hon) Tunde Braimoh, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Alhaji Azeez Oladotun Bello of Vigeo Ltd, Ishmael Olalekan Alli, Professor Harry Ladapo, Chief Bayo Adelabu of CBN, Senator Adesoji Akanbi, Dr Olubayo Windapo, Mr Toye Arulogun, Oyo’s Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism and Professor Ayobami Salami of the Technical University, Ibadan.
The school’s elaborate 60th anniversary will hold in January, 2018.
