English Premier League club, Liverpool has announced that Nigeria International striker, Taiwo Awoniyi has joined Belgian top flight club Royal Excel Mouscron on loan for the 2017-2018 campaign.
The former Flying Eagles star, who had earlier attracted interest from Kalmar and an unnamed Belgian club, joined Liverpool from Imperial Soccer Academy in 2015 for a reported fee of £400,000.
This is Awoniyi’s third stint on loan away from The Reds due to his inability to obtain a UK permit, having defended the colours of FSV Frankfurt and NEC Nijmegen during the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons respectively.
The 19-year-old impressed towards the end of last season, scoring in three consecutive matches in May.
A fast and powerful striker, who helped the Golden Eaglets win the FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates four years ago, becomes the ninth Nigerian player who will be featuring in the Belgian Jupiler league this coming season.
