The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and the Osun State House of Assembly have joined other great Nigerians to commiserate with the state’s governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola over the death of his mother.
The monarch, in a statement by the palace director media and public affairs, Comrade Moses Olafare, described Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola fondly called Mama Olobi, as an epitome of motherhood worthy of emulations by any reasonable woman with desire of raising successful children through whom she would be forever celebrated.
Ooni Ogunwusi who is currently on a private visit in London urged the good people of the state and Yoruba race in general to join Governor Aregbesola and siblings in the celebration of their mother who had laboured through the ups and downs to raise them with discpline, virtues and Godliness which today is reflecting in the life the governor who he called an OMOLUWABI per excellence.
The statement reads: “Mama Olobi, you are such a wonderful mother that will forever be celebrated by all and emulated by other good mothers who desire to raise children that will be blessings to the society like your children, one of whom is the current Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who has always conducted himself in an enviable manner reflecting the Godliness, discipline and good virtues with which you had raised him. He is indeed an Omoluwabi per excellence.
“May your soul rest in peace and may the Almighty Allah uphold the Governor as he continues to take Osun to greater heights”.
Meanwhile, the State’s House of Assembly in a statement by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye described Aregbesola’s mother as a very charitable and benevolent woman who not only love his family, but God and people in her community
According to the statement, “Mama Olobi as she was popularly called was a mother in a million who cared for every one that came her way.
“Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola was a very cool, calm and collected personality and a successful woman in kolanut business.”
Osun Assembly while praying for the governor and his siblings, and member of the Aregbesola family, the courage to bear the irreparable loss, submitted that life and times of Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola was a lesson in motherhood.
