The head of technical crew of Shooting Stars Sporting Club, Fatai Amoo has expressed his optimism that the Ibadan darling team will be among the contender for the Nigeria Professional Football League crown next season.
The former Sunshine Stars handler said the club with its array of talents in the technical department, management and team, should not fight against relegation every season when they should be competing for honours locally and rubbing shoulders with top clubs in CAF competitions
“I strongly believe 3SC will escape relegation this season considering the way we are picking up points here and there. I am very happy with our result against Gombe United in Ibadan. I know the players will pick up valuable lessons from that game as we play our next game away from home on Sunday.
“Our recent performances gave me the confidence that this club will do well next season. I used to be one of their strong critics but that changed immediately I became the club coach. I was able to see these problems very closely and the good news is that the management will fix them next season.
“God willing, 3SC won’t be making up the numbers in the league next season, but compete for NPFL crown,” he said
3SC is presently in 14th position on the league table with 43 points from 33 matches after defeating Gombe United 2-1 on Sunday and will face Abia Warriors next Sunday in Umuahia.
